Aerogel-based Technology

Explore how aerogel-based insulation helps achieve optimal system performance

ArmaGel application

Driving aerogel-based technology to meet industry demands

ArmaGel’s aerogel-based technology spans decades, marked by the continuous drive to refine and extend our diverse solution portfolio to address critical industry needs. This includes ArmaGel® HT (2018), ArmaGel DT (2020), ArmaGel Rail (2021), ArmaGel HTL (2022), and ArmaGel HTF (2022). Originating in the 1930s, aerogel is a solid derived from a gel, replacing the liquid component with air. It consists of more than 90 percent of air by volume with a complex porous solid network; offering extremely low density and thermal conductivity.

Did you know that an ArmaGel blanket of 20 mm delivers more insulation coverage per man-hour than conventional aerogel insulation?

ArmaGel Technology

ArmaGel’s complex porous structure and ultra-low density minimise heat transfer, ensuring better system performance in high-temperature applications. The ultra-light and ultra-thin design saves space and reduces the overall weight of insulated systems. This is a crucial advantage in environments where weight constraints are a consideration. Demanding minimal maintenance, they reduce operational costs and downtime. By choosing ArmaGel, specifiers ensure superior performance, safety, and cost-efficiency in their insulation projects.
Suitable for elevated temperatures

Explore the properties of ArmaGel

ArmaGel, a versatile family of aerogel insulation products, delivers outstanding performance across various parameters, including superior thermal insulation, non-combustibility, fire protection and space-efficiency.

Enhanced thermal performance

Enhanced thermal performance

Combining flexibility, ultra-thin profiles, and ultra-lightweight construction, ArmaGel HT is the reliable choice in high-temperature applications, providing thermal reliability and minimising heat loss in the most demanding conditions. Meeting ASTM C1728 compliance standards, it guarantees reliability in critical thermal insulation requirements.

Non-combustibility

Non-combustibility

Our generation of ArmaGel HTL introduces non-combustible aerogel insulation. Combined with the hydrophobic nature of the material, ArmaGel HTL offers enhanced capabilities to mitigate corrosion under insulation (CUI).

Highly resistant fire protection

Highly resistant fire protection

ArmaGel HTF represents the future of aerogel fire protection insulation. It is a reliable solution for both thermal insulation and fire protection. With a remarkable thermal resistance of up to 650°C (1200°F), ArmaGel HTF ensures that equipment remains thermally insulated even in the harshest environments. ArmaGel HTF meets ASTM C1728 and has been rigorously tested, officially achieving up to 120 minutes of fire protection in accordance with UL 1709. It is the perfect solution for applications requiring both thermal insulation and fire protection.

Dual temperature insulation

Dual temperature insulation

Tailored for cryogenic and dual-temperature applications, specialised aerogel solutions guarantee high-quality insulation, even in extreme temperature ranges, and comply with ASTM C1728 standards.

Fit for rail applications

Fit for rail applications

Specifically engineered for rail applications, aerogel-based insulation features a double-sided laminated design. This flexible aerogel insulation blanket offers unmatched energy efficiency without sacrificing valuable space. Super-thin profiles allow for up to 5-fold space savings, making it an exceptional choice for rail-based insulation needs.
