In 1954, Armstrong’s (predecessor company of Armacell) R&D project number 54013 brought ArmaFlex into existence. The dedication and perseverance of Lawrence 'Red' Clark, Thaddeus 'Ted' Grabowski, and Algirdas 'Al' Poshkus led to the development of this groundbreaking product, introducing a new era in thermal insulation. Today, seven decades later, ArmaFlex continues to be a pivotal part of Armacell's growth story and leads the market with its unparalleled quality and performance.
Manufactured across the Armacell world, ArmaFlex is customised to meet local requirements and often combined with other products to create hybrid solutions. Since 2006, Armacell has manufactured foam-insulation products made with Microban® antimicrobial product protection – the first foam insulation maker to do so. The company’s patented ArmaPreneTM technology is integrated into products such as ArmaFlex Ultima and AF/ArmaFlex Evo to combine excellent condensation control and energy efficiency with advanced fire safety. More recently, Armacell also set a new benchmark in halogen-free insulation materials with NH/ArmaFlex Smart. These advancements underscore Armacell's commitment to fit-for-purpose products and made-to-measure solutions.
ArmaFlex's influence extends globally, as it is a registered trademark in more than 50 countries, with the earliest dating back to 1957, and our portfolio of patent families covering various aspects of our product offerings is equally extensive.
