 | HT/Armaflex Brings Closed-Cell Performance to High Temperature applications |
 | If high temperature ranges put most flexible elastomeric off limits for your application, consider HT Armaflex. |
- Stays flexible at +300oF
- Resists UV, oil, ozone
- Closed-cell tubes and rolls
- Ideal for solar collectors
 | Description |
 | HT/Armaflex is a black flexible elastomeric thermal insulation, supplied as unslit tubing in nominal wall thicknesses of 3/8" (10mm), 1/2" (13mm), and 3/4" (19mm). It is specially developed by Armacell to perform in continuous high temperature applications up to +300°F (+150oC), with intermittent exposure to +350oF (+175°C). The formulation of HT/Armaflex provides exceptional ozone and ultraviolet resistance.
A closed-cell material, HT/Armaflex provides low thermal conductivity, good fire behavior, low temperature flexibility, and excellent protection against heat flow and water vapor diffusion. It is manufactured without the use of CFC’s, HFC's or HCFC's. It is also formaldehyde free, low VOCs, fiber free, dust free and resists mold and mildew. When installed in the same manner as standard AP/Armaflex flexible insulation, HT/Armaflex requires no additional vapor retarder under normal conditions.
Complies with: |
- ASTM C 534 Type I (Tubular) Grade 2, Type II (Sheet) Grade 2
- UL 94 5V-A, V-0, File E 55798
 | Resistance to Water Vapor Flow |
 | The closed cell structure of HT/Armaflex prevents moisture from wicking and makes it an efficient insulation. For most applications, HT/Armaflex requires no supplemental vapor retarder. An additional vapor retarder may be necessary when installed on very cold lines or where exposed to continuous high humidity (see Armaflex Installation Manual).
 | Uses |
 | HT/Armaflex is used as insulation and protection for piping in solar collectors, refrigeration and automotive applications. The insulation withstands incidental oil contact and performs on a broad range of metal pipes and tubing in applications such as:
- Refrigeration -- hot gas piping
- Automotive -- under hood
- Solar collectors
- Dual temperature and low pressure steam lines
It is used to retard heat gain and control condensation drip from chilled water and refrigeration systems. It also efficiently reduces heat flow on hot systems. |
 | Installation |
 | Supplied in tube and roll form, HT/Armaflex is easy to snap on or sleeve over pipework for new or existing piping applications. In roll form, HT/Armaflex installs quickly on large flat or curved surfaces using Armaflex 625 Adhesive. For pipes and fitting covers, only seams and joints require adhesive. HT/Armaflex is installed in the same manner as AP/Armaflex (see Armaflex Installation Manual). HT625 Adhesive is required to seal seams and joints.
 | Features -- Benefits |
 | HT/Armaflex is engineered to meet more demanding insulation requirements.
- High-temperature formulation -- meets most under the hood requirements
- Withstands incidental oil contact -- extended life in demanding applications
- Will not degrade in sunlight -- extended life in demanding applications
- Flexible at low and high temperatures -- added durability, conforms easily
- Closed-cell structure -- excellent protection against water diffusion; no supplemental vapor retarder
- Nonfibrous, nondusting -- no special tools; no dust during fabrication and installation
- Tubes and rolls install the same as AP/Armaflex -- meets target cost objectives; easy to apply; meets OEM design requirements; professional appearance.
